I ask this now, because a fellow GAF member named Wii Will Rock U, was banned, or even permanently banned from making a twitter account in trying to promote Professor Layton 2.
Here's the thread about it:

Seems like the issue is that he was... and possibly I am currently am doing viral marketing, which seems to be frowned upon, regardless of the intentions, good or not.
As much as I want to help MMV out, is it really worth the upset if this is so wrong?
I've already sent this to GoNintendo, Joystiq, and Siliconera for their opinion on the forum, so hopefully they'll tell me before they post it if it's the right thing to do or not, I don't want this spreading if it's only going to put me on the wanted list you know?
What do you think? Is what I'm doing so bad it's ban-worthy and such? I'm just trying to help!
Why must things like this, when you're just trying to do something good and helpful, is such a bad thing? It's not right!
Obviously, if what I'm doing is "wrong", then I'll have to shut the forum down, I'm so sorry that such a good cause may not be able to be fulfilled because of this.
UPDATE: Seems to be a false alarm! WWRU was banned for hiding his identity when making the twitter account, and you just can't make posts in forums about advertising your forum, website, etc.
Seems like as I'm clearly saying what I'm doing, and I'm not hiding my identity at all, as I use this username at almost any other forum I go to, except when I can't space my name, then it'll be GoldMetalSonic.
And just pop this into your signature at forums, shouldn't be a problem!
AND, good old Spencer of Siliconera, while he wouldn't post this due to the site being platform agnostic, he wished me good luck with the forum/project!
